Northern Planning and Sustainability Unit & the Planning for Growth North Program
The NPS unit builds northern planning capacity and community sustainability by providing professional, northern-based consulting and support services. The NPS unit provides professional planning services upon request to the municipalities in the Northern Saskatchewan Administration District (NSAD). Professional planning services are also provided to the District (a northern municipality).
The unit's long-standing Northern Municipal Trust Account (NMTA) program, Planning for Growth North, works with municipalities in the NSAD to develop, implement and update their Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw. The program provides municipalities with the opportunity to envision their future and determine the appropriate steps to reach that vision.
