Are you looking for an opportunity to work with a dynamic team that delivers and administers programs that facilitate sustainability and growth to northern municipalities across northern Saskatchewan? Northern Municipal Services is looking for a Program Consultant to support the Northern Municipal Trust Account (NMTA) Management Board with the planning, administration, evaluation, and creation of programs that support northern municipalities in maintaining healthy, safe, and vibrant communities. Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager of Program and Service Delivery, the Program Consultant will be responsible duties such as:
- Providing guidance and support to the NMTA Management Board (board) in the planning, administration, evaluation, and creation of NMTA programs through:
- Assisting with the oversight, organization, and coordination of program activities.
- Guiding strategic program planning and assisting with outlining long-term objectives and action plans.
- Assisting in the growth and development of existing programs.
- Facilitating informed decision-making and impactful program management practices.
- Effectively managing and coordinating communication regarding programs, program projects, and finances between the board, project managers, and senior management.
- Designing, organizing, and implementing systems and tools to automate routine tasks and make processes more accurate and consistent.
- Monitoring program progress and addressing any unanticipated activities.
- Facilitating and supporting the board in preparing recommendations for project approval.
- Attending and providing status reports at all board meetings.
Skill Set & Experience
- Program and/or project consulting or management experience.
- Exceptional time management, organization, and written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office software, and other related software packages.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in engagement, working collaboratively and as part of a team, and building strong working relationships.
- Ability to work with diverse and multi-disciplinary teams.
Education and Certification
- A bachelor’s degree.
- Education in a field related to responsibilities, such as project or program management or consulting.
- A certification from the Project Management Institute is considered an asset (CAMP, PMP or PgMP).
- An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience will be considered.
Hours of Work & Compensation
- Hours of work: 32-40 hrs./week. Hours of work can be adjusted to suit the successful candidate.
- Usual work hours are Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with an hour lunch break.
- Hourly Wage: the starting hourly wage for this position will be based on skills and experience.
- Benefits: a set wage supplement to cover self-directed health, dental, group life insurance and pension.
- Travel: occasional travel may be required.
